Certification of Hotels and Lodgings
What is it
The ranking system includes the technical and functional specifications and rating criteria for ranking existing and new hotels into star categories.
Classification certificates are issued in accordance with Ministerial Decree 219 / 08-01-2015 by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels based on a technical report prepared by ESYD accredited bodies for audits and inspections to rank hotels in star categories.
Target Audience
The ranking system concerns all accommodation units, new and existing.
Benefits
The process of classifying hotels into star categories is mandatory for their legal operation. Also, the technical and operational classification criteria offer owners an upgrade of the quality of their tourist product and consequently the development of customer loyalty towards them. - ISO 9001 -100 points
- ISO 14001 – 200 points
- ISO 22000- 200 points
- HACCP Certification – 100 points
- “Greek Breakfast” by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels – 250 points
Greek Breakfast
What is it
The “Greek Breakfast” program has been developed by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and aims to enrich the breakfast offered by hotels with typical Greek agri-food products as well as traditional local dishes.

The ranking system concerns all accommodation units, new and existin.
Benefits
Hellenic Breakfast is another qualitative feature for hotel businesses as the gastronomic wealth of Greece is world-renowned. Also, “Greek Breakfast” has been included in the star rating system as a rating criterion (250 points for Hotels – Criterion 10.5). Also, the “Greek Breakfast” has been included in the system of classification of hotels in star categories as a scoring criterion (250 points for Hotels – criterion 10.5).

What is
