LVD Directive Compliance
The LVD Directive 2014/35/EU replaced the previous Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC with the goal of enhancing safety standards for electrical equipment. This updated directive ensures that all electrical products placed on the market meet stringent health and safety requirements, providing a high level of protection for people, pets, and property. At the same time, it fosters the smooth functioning of the internal market by creating a unified regulatory framework across the EU.
Summary
This workshop provides a comprehensive overview of the Low Voltage Directive (LVD 2014/35/EU), its purpose, and key regulatory requirements for electrical equipment within the EU. Participants will gain insight into the directive’s core safety and compliance obligations, supported by practical examples and real-world case studies for better understanding. The session includes an in-depth explanation of EU Harmonized Standard No. 1025/2012, detailing its role in supporting the implementation of the LVD and its implications for manufacturers and testing processes. Attendees will also explore how to ensure product design and manufacturing meet the directive’s safety standards, including effective risk analysis and assessment techniques. The workshop features a live presentation of laboratory testing equipment and concludes with a hands-on product testing session, offering participants practical knowledge on verifying compliance. This agenda is designed for professionals involved in product design, manufacturing, testing, and compliance with European safety regulations.

Training Methodology
With many years of experience in LVD testing, LABOR has established itself as a leader in conducting electrical safety tests across a broad spectrum of electrical equipment products. Our state-of-the-art laboratories are equipped to carry out these critical tests, ensuring compliance with the highest safety standards.
For our training programs, the LABOR Laboratory Supervisor, who also serves as a Board Member of Hellas Lab (Hellenic Association of Laboratories), is the primary lecturer. With deep expertise and extensive experience in the field of testing, the instructor offers invaluable insights into the practical application of electrical safety protocols. The training program is structured to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the LVD Directive, including an in-depth presentation on its requirements and the relevant harmonized standards. The program also incorporates discussions on real-world examples and provides an opportunity for participants to observe ongoing testing in our laboratories, offering a hands-on learning experience.
Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance from LABOR S.A., recognizing their engagement and newly acquired expertise in electrical safety and compliance.
